Prairie Style Collection
-
Interest in Prairie Style architecture has seen a resurgence in the last five years. An American style exemplified by low lying, homes with an emphasis on using natural materials. Heavily influenced by Frank Lloyd Wright, the style was usually marked by horizontal lines, flat or hipped roof, large overhangs, windows grouped in horizontal bands and integrated with the landscape. Wright felt this orientation was a distinctly American design motif. The younger country had much more open, undeveloped land than found in most older urbanized European nations. We’ve taken the elements of Prairie Style design and created several different options for those looking to capture this revolutionary style of architecture in a natural wood siding. The Prairie Vision siding offers home builders an 11/16” thick wood siding available in 4”, 6”, 8”, 10” & 12” widths. This efficient option offers a slight shadow line and performs exceptionally well when combined with vertical wood or stone outside corners. If you desire to eliminate outside corners and utilize a clean mitered prairie style look, we suggest the Narrowline Channel or Prairie Log in a clear vertical grain grade of Western Red Cedar, Redwood or Ipe. Contact one of our sales specialists today and discuss the best option for your prairie style home project.
